I remember when decent 840i’s could be had for a very modest amount five years ago. I don’t know what the hell is going on, but every niche used car is skyrocketing in price and soon a clean 1999 SC400 will cost 5-figures :(

840's are still relatively cheap. This is a 850csi

I guess once the internet brought about information to people, they could see how much more special variants are. This is as much of an M8 as possible in the day I guess. CSi level was much more better of everything not just an appearance group with bigger brakes or a different chip tune. I choked when I saw the asking of 145k. Indeed wtf is going on, sir?!

CP! CP!! CP!!! No way in hell should anyone pay $145k with all that overspray on the underbody.
For that price, you could get 2-3 sorted Porsche 928 GTS, 993 911's, CL65/SL63/SL65/E63 AMG’s, M3's/M5's/Alpina’s, Alpine A310's, or at least one AMG GT-S.

At first when I took a quick look at the pic, I thought it was a Mk3 Supra. But damn that’s a nice 850. If u gets it I shall borrow it for a couple years

It appears to be the mythical factory manual 12, hence the asking price. If I were in the market, I would would run the VIN to see if someone actually did a super-clean transmission swap before I bid.
Either way, though, that is a damned gorgeous automobile.

It’s a real 850csi.
